Why Frontier Tutors exists
Frontier Tutors was founded on a simple belief: every student can push past what they think their limits are, given the right support. Growing up, we noticed that the most affordable options available are generic group classes and expensive tutoring that doesn't speak to what a child is actually learning in the classroom.
We built Frontier Tutors around one-on-one instruction that's fully aligned to the Alberta Education curriculum — so every session directly reinforces what students are covering in school, from elementary fundamentals through core high school subjects and diploma exams.
What makes us different is the combination of experienced tutors, truly personalized learning plans, and pricing that keeps quality one-on-one support accessible to more families — not just a few. Qaiyam Datoo
B.Sc. in Bioinformatics (in progress), University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine — Alberta High School Diploma
Qaiyam is a co-founder and tutor at Frontier Tutors with several years of tutoring experience in math, chemistry (including AP Chemistry), and other sciences. He is currently in his second year of a Bioinformatics degree at the University of Calgary. His teaching style is adaptive, tailoring each session to how a student learns best — whether that means breaking concepts down step by step, working through practice problems, or focusing on exam prep — and he works with students both online and in person.
Ziya Bhayani
B.H.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences (in progress), University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine — IB Diploma & Alberta High School Diploma
Ziya is a co-founder and tutor at Frontier Tutors, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Calgary. Having completed both the IB Diploma Programme and the Alberta High School Diploma, she brings firsthand experience with both curricula to her tutoring in biology, chemistry, math, physics, and English, including IB support. Her patient, encouraging approach breaks difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps while helping students build strong study habits and confidence.
